Redang island, is an enchanting island about 2 hours by boat from Terengganu. Relatively uninhabited except for a nearby rustic fishing village built on stilts over the sea, its surrounding waters offer visitors a variety of fascinating marine life. Visitors will be able to see hard and soft corals of every hue, anemones and colorful clams when the rays of the sun penetrates the sea at mid-day, making it the ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. There's plenty of marine life to see in the area. The rich coral beds are home to creatures of all colours and patterns. Fish swim inches from one's face, eels gaze warilyout of cervices while puffer fish huddle beneath the rocks, ready to inflate when approched. It is said that it is like swimming in an aquarium. Redang Island is also said to be Peninsula Malaysia's main nesting site for green turtles.
